If you find the barrel-blasting game in Donkey Kong Country interesting, you will have a lot fun with Pomelo Games’ new action adventure title Bullet Boy. And if you have a New Zealand iTune account, you are able to download it for free now, for it was just soft-launched in New Zealand.
As the title suggest, Bullet Boy is about shooting a bullet-headed boy between cannons to help him reach the designated platform to collect pieces of mysterious statues. To do that, you need to tap at the right timing and with the right angel so as to navigate through tricky paths replete with barriers and avoid flying birds and crashes.
Bullet Boy is a pick up and play but with enough challenges stored in latter levels. As a level becomes complex, you need to tap-and-hold to turn some cannons into the right shooting direction. And tricky levels also get a helper, the tornado that chases behind. If you stay motionless for seconds, probably trying to capture the timing, the tornado will appear and approach pressing you to act fast.
Bullet Boy is addictive and plays the tricks of “one more try”. Though it is free, it does not have the suck timer to force you out of gameplay. You can try as many times as you want in a tricky level. And you can unlock several other bullet heads and power-up items.
Bullet Boy is currently only available in New Zealand. If its soft-launch goes well, it should be coming out officially early next year. Players who have New Zealand account can download this game via this link.
