Bio Inc. – Biomedical Simulator is quite self-explanatory. It is an edutainment-style app based on biomedicine and it lets players play as the ‘lord of bacteria and viruses’ spreading diseases to kill a human being.
From a junk food addict to a professional athlete, from a happy birthday to the emergency room, there are 12 customized stages in Bio Inc. that let players create illness against persons with different life style and under different circumstances. And each stage, once unlocked, can be played in three difficulty levels: mild, moderate and severe. In each game, there are numerous ways to create diseases to the target and finally push him to the incurable state.
Bio Inc. is easy to learn. At the center stage is the real-time degradation of a human body. Players will gather bacteria and viruses (automatically generated) from eight major systems of a body to earn Bio Points and then spend them infecting one or multiple systems of their choice to develop illnesses. Take the circulatory for example. Give the target hypertension in the first step, evolve it to brain aneurysm, high cholesterol and more health problems, and finally cause fatal stroke and heart attack.
While players are busy causing troubles, the weakened person will visit doctors for treatment at times with symptoms worsening or even directly be shoveled into an ambulance when there is a system failure. That will make the game a competition between diseases and recovery. And players need to inflict damage to achieve their goal before the recovery reaches 100%. Whether it is to focally damage one system and then shift to another or spread the diseases across multiple major organs simultaneously, there is more than one way to break a body.
Bio Inc. also covers some risk factors like overweight, smoke, obese and junk food addict and introduces their part in causing or increasing diseases damage for different systems. All together, it wraps a good knowledge of biomedicine into a simplified and quickened simulation of body degradation. And it works well as a reminder of different life styles’ impact on health and a systematic assortment of common knowledge about diseases.
Bio Inc. – Biomedical Simulator is now priced $1.99 as a special launch promotion. [App Link]
