Join the live bombing contest in Blast Zone! and outwit rivals to become the champion.
Blast Zone! is a pick-up-and-play. The in-game control involves only moving and planting bombs on the grid-based maps. And the game basic game objective is to blow off rivals in the field before they get you. Bombs planted have their attack range and take 3s to explode. So it’s all about timing.
There are tons of levels to conquer in the solo campaign. You will fight in a plethora of battlefields that vary from one another in its obstacles, enemies and boosts. You will fight NPC opponents, big and small cyborgs and mega bosses that behave differently and you can pick up handy boosters scattered around there to facilitate your movement and attack. In addition to destructible barrels and other soft barriers, more new environmental objects will appear on the map such as the one-way paths, firing turrets and transport buttons on some levels, which you can work to your needs.
Every level in the campaign can be played for triple times with increasing difficulty. And from the stage node you can predict what game you will run into – while defeating opponents is the basis, some stages add the feel of puzzles into it challenging you to complete different goals.
Besides, you can always hop into a multiplayer matchup in the arena competing with several other players to be the last standing. Battle becomes more fun when more contestants join. And some matches can last quite long, mostly because the game is easy to play and not hard to master. Similar to the story mode, multiplayer maps are fairly diverse.
Blast Zone! also contains some role-playing concepts. You can boost the three basic attributes of your character with earned skill points via level-up and earn quite a few customization trinkets to personal your fighter in looks while gaining some bonuses.
On the whole, Blast Zone! plays like a sort-of children’s game but with dangerous bombs in the playfield. It’s a simple game casual players will definitely love.
