The young witch Stella embarks on a new adventure in her magical world with her cats with the release of Bubble Witch Saga 2, the sequel to the popular bubble-bouncing puzzle game Bubble Witch Saga from King.
In Bubble Witch Saga 2 you will help Stella to fight back the evil spirits and take back her land through levels of challenge. Both game structure and basic rules are the same with those in the original. You control the bubble cannon to aim and shoot bubbles to their own color cluster and make a group of three or more to eliminate them. Eliminated bubbles will finally fall into the pots at the bottom turning into score. You can pass a level when you complete the level goal and get at least one star.
At launch, Bubble Witch Saga 2 prepares 50 fun levels over different maps. As you go you will enter one of three game modes that task you with corresponding objective. Of them, you have the classic clear-the-board game mode where you try to clear 6 or more bubbles on the top to eliminate all on the board. Another gameplay style is to rescue cute animals. To do that, you need to shoot down all surrounding bubbles to free the trapped creatures.
Still another is to free the spirit. This mode is a fresh design never seen before in games of this kind. While it plays basically the same way with rescuing animals, it differs from the other by its special wheel-shaped, spinning play board. In levels of this mode, you need to gradually reach to the Spirit in the pivot and eliminate all adjacent bubbles to set it free. While you shoot bubbles, you spin the bubble-made wheel clockwise or counterclockwise based on the shooting angle, which will make your next move easier or tougher.
Currently, there are only three modes available. But it’s great to know that the game developers plan to add more contents every 2 weeks. As you advance through levels, Bubble Witch Saga 2 becomes more difficult with special hazard-style bubbles showing up gradually. Take the cloud-covered tiles for instance. You have to hit these bubbles first to reveal their color. When they break the large chunk of same colored bubbles, it requires both skill and luck to reach the specific goal within limited moves.
To deal with tricky levels, you can use several different boosters. Match the rainbow bubble with any color to eliminate it, or blast a path of bubbles with the fire ball. In addition to power-ups, you can also rely on your skills and mastery of accuracy to achieve high score. By making matches without missing any shot, you create combos to attract nice spiders or activate the hot pot bonus. When falling bubbles bounce upon spiders, you gain extra points; and once you ignite the hot-pot, you gain double scores with every bubble in it.
Bubble Witch Saga 2 is modeled its predecessor in the play pattern but featured with new game modes and bubble designs. It carries on the immersion of the original but refreshes it with its own unique features. It’s worth a download.
