Butterscotch Shenanigans are working hard on a brand new game titled Crashlands and just released the first alpha trailer of it in order to join the Indie Games Festival 2015. You can watch the trailer on the developers’ blog here. Crashlands looks promising from the trailer. It combines many existing concepts together and conjures up an alien world where you can explore around, beat up diverse enemies, gather resources and craft gear and items that can change the world.
The storyline of Crashlands is set in a newly discovered planet. You play as an adventurer named Flux Dabes on a mission there to find a new energy source to save the dying earth. You find it, but before you can use it to complete your task you have to survive the hostile world and find a way back to earth, for your ship is destroyed by an evil scientist there.
The adventure story of Crashlands wraps the diverse elements in a neat way. As revealed from the trailer, it features a wealth of enemy types, various landscapes and a deep crafting system.
Crashlands is scheduled to arrive at iOS/Android and PC, Mac and Linux in spring 2015. It will have a free-to-play model that is done right.
