Darkin is an addictive zombie-themed Puzzle RPG where you as a newly dead try to survive the world of the undead and seek for blood domination. A lot of baddies and bosses there want to see you dead-dead but you won’t back down without a fight. Suck blood to keep undead, bite the baddies to keep them out of your way and grow stronger!
Darkin is easy to play with simple matching mechanics: trace a path to link 3 or more tiles (even diagonally) for certain power. Hearts are for health; moons for energy (then abilities); and coins for stats upgrades. There are also various enemies on the board that will attack you and/or disturb your matching in their own wonderfully creepy styles – the skull peons scratch you with bloody paws; the spider wraps and traps your tiles with web; the black foul flies around from tile to tile; and the Medusa turns your resource tiles into snakes. But you can get rid of them by matching them with the Teeth tile in specific ways like from below or above. And it takes different amount of blows to finish them, for minions and bosses vary in HP.
By collecting moons you can fill up the energy meter that once full allows you to use one ability. Trick a random enemy into attacking one of its kind; convert coins, teeth, hearts, moons, etc. in-between; reduce damage taken or heal for greater Health; get a temporary board with no enemies on it – as you go, you can unlock and use over 40 instant abilities that bring extra fun and certain strategy (especially in the challenging matches) to the puzzle fight.
You start with Almost Eternal in Darkin trying to survive as long as you can in endless turns of challenge. With progression you can also unlock two other game modes, Bloody Countdown and Sunrise Survival, where you can fight for survival in a fast 100-turn challenge and race against time to battle your way back to coffin before the sunrise respectively. Three modes brings different experiences and with difficulty tiers ranging from casual to hard each it has a high replay value while catering to all skill levels.
Darkin is optimized for smartphones and tablets. A universal app, it is playable on all supported devices with one-time purchase. [DOWNLOAD on the App Store]
