Godzilla: Strike Zone is a tie-in of the upcoming movie Godzilla scheduled to hit theaters on May 16, 2014. The game only contains three scenarios that let you experience tidbits of the action in the film from sky drop to ground search to the David-vs.-Goliath style confrontation.
In Godzilla: Strike Zone you play an ordinary solider on dangerous missions to rescue humans trapped in the fallen building in the face of the powerful Godzilla. Your mission starts with the Hola Jump as you and other members of a squad air drop to the destination. To avoid mid-air collision and land safely you tilt to control your character steering away from buildings, falling debris and other teammates.
Once you hit the ground you move towards the mission field, which is not as easy as it sounds. You will encounter various dangers along the way such as falling cars and other debris, electrified pool of water and a large rift with a narrow metal above. And you need to interact with some highlighted items to find a way out – shoot a large box down and use it as a stepping stone, or collect some TNT to blow out a path, for instance. After you pass the first two tests the pinnacle comes as you take on the ultimate Godzilla.
Godzilla: Strike Zone offers some unique gaming experience based off the movie. But it needs improvements on its game control and also more contents to a full-fledged game.
