Incoming! Goblins Attack TD is quite self-explanatory. It is a goblin-heavy tower defense title with solid yet conventional gameplay. Simply put, it is just another TD title.
It is a little redundant to explain the basics of Incoming! Goblins Attack TD for players who have ever played a typical tower defense title on any platforms. It is all about building towers on the set strategic points to prevent enemies half-way from reaching the other end of the map.
In the game players have only Arrow, Cannon and Mage towers at disposal. The tower types are rather limited, making it a minus with regards to the game variety and strategy. Similarly disappointing, the usable skills are also in the lack including only four kinds such as mines and flame strike. To make that up a bit is the multiple upgrades for towers and skills. From attack range to damage to the fire rate, the basic stats of every tower can be increased to different degree. And the cost is the Star earned in every level. So, replay? Well, yes.
Enemies are more diverse. In addition to the varyingly armed goblins, there is a variety of mobs like the swimming lizards, flying will-o-wisp, boss warlord and healing trolls. When a new enemy shows up, there will be a reminder, a quick note listing its stats and special ability. Enemy skills are not complicated but add certain freshness and depth into the battle.
Incoming! Goblins Attack TD features four landscapes – forest, swamp, snowfield and volcano – each with 40 fun levels and over 20 unique enemy types. Most levels are wave-based with occasional special challenges in-between. For instance, levels with endless waves of enemies usually also have the special Seal alongside and the only way to pass and win is to active the seals spending a large amount of coins to completely block the path.
Incoming! Goblins Attack TD is not bad with its decent graphics and solid tower defense fun, but it is not good enough to shake off the ‘just another’ tag. [App Link]
