Giraffes have long necks. But the giraffe in Oh My Giraffe, an endearing arcade game newly launched on mobile this week, has an absurdly long and flexible neck. Without that, this beautiful creature has no chance to survive the jungle.
Oh My Giraffe is an endless survival arcade game, if put in a plain way, which stars a cute giraffe looking for food. Fruit hang high and low along the way. You just need to tap them and the giraffe will stretch or curve its neck to reach them. You accumulate scores by eating fruit and acquire higher points when you create combos without missing a single of them.
But there are predators chasing behind. The only way to get rid of them is to chew the vines and drop fruits to knock the scary lions over. And you don’t have to keep alert all the time. There is a sweet day-and-night cycle. When the darkness falls, you can enjoy a moment of peace eating fruit leisurely while the predators are asleep.
Oh My Giraffe has beautiful pixel art and well-crafted animation with a whimsical touch. One small design I personally like in the game is the fruit-eating trace that stays on the screen and looks like star signs, especially at the peaceful night.
