Soul Guardians: Age of Midgard is a free-to-play Action RPG that features both single-player story campaign and multiplayer PvP matches. Set in a fantasy land called Midgard, the game places you into the role of a soul guardian who fights to defend the world from a Demon army while competing with adversaries to become the most powerful.
Soul Guardians provides four characters different from one another in the looks, skills and battle style. Based on the fighter type of choice you can earn and collect different Soul Art cards from battle and use special abilities from them in battle. As usual, you start with the single-player mode clearing dungeons and then with level-up you unlock multiplayer contents that allow you to party together in co-op missions or duel others in matchups. The only major issue is its multiplayer control latency which kills the battle intensity and fun a lot.
Character development is not the whole of role-playing. As a part of the card collection feature, you can evolve your favorite cards and fuse low-levels to forge powerful ones. While you will collect many cards in battle you can experiment with their combinations and relish the powerful punch of ultimate skills.
Soul Guardian: Age of Midgard has balanced and intense combat as well as animated battle scenes. Lagging issue aside, it’s a decent and solid action RPG with a lot of fun.
