The Papo & Yo creators Minority Media will be releasing their latest creation Spirits of Spring, a brand new adventure title filled with puzzle elements next month. While the October release on the App Store was set earlier in June, the recent announcement on Tweeter serves as more of a confirmation. No surprises there, but it is still good to hear.
What’s new in the update is the name change. Previously titled Silent Enemy, this new game is now changed to Spirits of Spring.
For players never heard of it before, Spirits of Spring is an adventure game with anti-bullying theme. It explores the story of a young boy named Chiwatin together with his friends, Rabbit and Bear, on a tough mission to seek for the Springtime.
Chiwatin comes from a mythical land where the balance of spring and winter is maintained by magical spirits. But this harmony is tilted one day when the mysterious giant Crows steal the boy’s Spirits. The mystical land is locked in permanent winter. So the boy decides to set off searching for the culprits Crows and seeking to bring spring back to his world.
The story is based on Aboriginal legends. According to the developers, it “explores our experiences with bullying and the power of friendship in surviving it”.
Spirits of Spring will become available in October 2014 on the App Store, with other platforms following. [Facebook Page]
