Swipe Quest is roguelike and hybrid. It blends the board puzzle game and adventure RPG together into a casually fun experience. Lean back relaxed and immerse in this fantasy world to have some adventure with heroes.
Swipe Quest boasts a grid-based play field where different squares from collectible goodies to enemies will be generated randomly to fill up. And tiles of the same type will merge into one with higher value when they meet. Initially at center, your hero can move in four directions to take actions differently. If there is a foe with lower attack and health, you can encounter and finish it; and if there is a tree and you have axes in the inventory, you can cut it and get it out of your way.
The collectible on the board includes six items known as swords & shields, pickaxes & axes, healing potion and gold. You may want to gather as many of them as possible to beat down enemies and avoid being surrounded in all directions to be dead. The battle part is more of number deduction. If you have more swords and shields, you defeat your foes.
Swipe Quest is easy to learn but with certain depth in the gameplay. To use up all collected swords to get rid of a super-strong enemy or to simply dodge it for the time being leaving a potential threat? That is your call. And you also need to adjust your plans at any time with the ever-changing environments. Due to that randomness, you will see the ebb and flow of the gameplay where a timely show-up of a tool can turn the side while one more rock may put you at dead end.
Every puzzle gives you a task to complete. No matter it is to save 10 cows or defeat five witches, all quests offer certain goals instead of being endless survival challenge. During play, you can level up your hero to gain higher HP and attack power. Equally important is the Gold gathered and earned by completing quests.
Swipe Quest provides four unlocked heroes in the beginning of the adventure and six more unlockable at specific levels for gold. Besides, gold offers the last chance of turning a board. When you are struck, surrounded by either wood/rock or enemies, you can spend gold to purchase extra swords, shields, pickaxes and/or axes to break a way out. It’s an option and a bite.
