The Cursed Ship – Collector’s Edition HD is a wonderful adventure & puzzle game featured with decent graphics, great variety of puzzles and a compelling story told in an interactive style.
In The Cursed Ship you play search crew of the Trident Corporation on the mission of locating the missing luxury ship named Ondine. As you searched at sea and sailed into a zone, you were dragged into the collision course by unknown forces and lost consciousness all of a sudden. When you wake up you are in a room of the gigantic vessel you search for. You see shadows of a girl in the broken mirror who asks for your help. And you need to look around and figure out what’s happened. From there the adventure begins.
Interaction with environmental objects is the basis of the game play. Look into a hole in the wall, pick up a blood-stained note, collect glass pieces, keys, hammers and so on – all are done by simple tapping. As you search around you can collect a variety of items, store them in the inventory and use each under specific circumstances like entering a new room, solving the short circuit puzzle or doing a favor for a character. From your first cabin to the corridor and beyond, you may want to turn every location upside down to find the key to unlock a door or solve puzzles.
It’s immersive to peal layers of the mysterious story little by little and sometimes frustrating when you can’t figure out a solution. When struck, you can gather some clues from the interactive dialogues or use the hint that usually points out a way out vaguely. If you are a veteran in this type of games, you can challenge yourself by toggling on the Expert mode (in the setting) where you have no clues in any location, wait longer for hints to recharge and suffer miss-tap penalty in hidden object mini-games.
The Cursed Ship is a long story with myriads of puzzles, quests and collectible objects. In a world of overlapped universe, will you solve all puzzles and uncover the secrets of the sunken Ondine?
